The Amilcare Ponchielli Study Center Association is a social promotion association dedicated to the figure of the Cremonese composer Amilcare Ponchielli.

In particular, the Association aims to pursue the following objectives:

  • promote research and studies, conferences and meetings, exhibitions, publications, and concerts;
  • provide scientific advice and sponsorship regarding study and concert activities, through the collaboration of experts, scholars, and musicians;
  • actively collaborate with universities, music conservatories, and cultural institutions, supporting research projects, theses, and musical performances;
  • increase knowledge of Ponchielli’s music through the updating of the Catalog of Works and the publication of the Complete Works.

Founded in 2011, the Association has initiated and maintains numerous activities, including:

  • the Ponchielli Festival, a concert series that since 2012 has presented, every September, music of various genres by the composer;
  • a series of publications, unpublished scores, and CDs;
  • conferences and outreach events aimed at the general public.

The Association benefits from close and fruitful collaboration with the Teatro Ponchielli, the Museo Ponchielliano, and the Biblioteca Statale di Cremona.
