Gabriele Galleggiante Crisafulli graduated in Philosophy in 2013 (University of Palermo), earned a Piano diploma in 2015 (“Bellini” Conservatory of Palermo), and specialized in Musicology in 2020 (University of Pavia). His professional and academic work is oriented, on one hand, towards historical research and the promotion of the instrumental repertoire of 19th-century Italian music, and on the other, towards the preservation and management of musical library and documentary heritage within libraries and archives. He gained practical experience as a cataloger at the Conservatory Library of Palermo from 2014 to 2015, and at the Library of the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage of the University of Pavia, based in Cremona, from 2016 to 2019. In 2016, he also worked as a library assistant at the Conservatory Library of Palermo. He served as archivist for the Choir Association of the Faculty of Musicology from 2017 to 2019, and as a volunteer in the National Civil Service at the Cremona Municipal Archive in 2018. He currently collaborates with the “Amilcare Ponchielli” Study Center Association of Cremona on research and editing activities for the piano compositions in the Ponchielli catalog.
